Palworld Devs Respond To Players Amidst Decline

Palworld. A world where Pokémon meets ARK. Resource gathering, monster taming, and conquerable world bosses await eager players in this action-packed fantasy game. Despite various controversy, the game developed by Pocket Pair did exceedingly well upon launch. With a whopping 8mil players downloading the game from both Steam Early Access and Xbox One Game Pass, Palworld ranked #2 during its initial launch on Steam within the span of a single week!

However, with great success soon comes massive decline. From #2, now currently sitting at #4 in the Steam Charts, Pocket Pair’s once popular game soon faced far too many problems. As a result, the player base dropped from 7mil, to a mere 2mil within the following month. But, how could this be? That’s why we at Geek News Now are here to help address this matter, and the response the developers gave that left players eager for more.

Palworld; Amazing, But Bugged:

While it’s no surprise that Palworld faced a huge drop in player base, this is large-in-part due to the many bugs and glitches the game faced. These ranged from entities glitching into rocks, players falling through the map, or even Pals randomly walking through walls in bases. But, it didn’t end there.

Players also voiced their annoyance when world servers suddenly shut down. This in turn forced players to restart from the very beginning. If you played Palworld these past few weeks, then you’d know how hard it is to get even halfway through the game. Furthermore, there really wasn’t much to do in terms of gameplay. The only goals currently available are:

  • Capture all available Pals
  • Obtain all Schematics
  • Explore the entire Map
  • Defeat all Pal Bosses
  • Defeat all Syndicate Bosses

Sure, it’s a lot to go on. But, with the problems the game currently faces, it’s hard for gamers to keep up when the glitches outweigh the gameplay. Aside from this, it came as a surprise to almost everyone when the Palworld devs finally responded, in the most unexpected way possible.

Devs Respond; It’s Okay To Not Play:

When the player base for the game faced a rapid decline, the developers of Palworld responded. Normally, this would be considered a bad thing due to history showing developers blaming gamers. Take this video by Asmongold for example, where a developer at Bethesda (Starfield) blamed the decline of player base on the gamers, themselves. However, in a shocking turn of events, a developer by the name of ‘Bucky‘ took to Twitter on February 14th, and responded to the player base downfall.

In the Tweet, Bucky stated that it’s okay to take breaks. Furthermore, if the player base becomes a 50/50 situation, that’s okay too. Palworld will only continue to grow as time ticks on and that players can take the time looking for more games to play. All in all, it would seem that Pocket Pair has many plans to continue growing their game, with more content to come.

But, tell us what you think in the comments below. Are you still playing Palworld? If so, tell us what you’re favorite aspect of the game is and what you’re excited for. Also, be sure to check out our Facebook page, as we keep our viewers up-to-date on the latest happenings.

I’m not concerned with how much of your game has been inspired by or even copied from other games. It looks like a lot of fun and I am hoping to purchase a copy myself soon. I’ve been really tight on funds buying supplies for my kids, so I am hoping to be able to buy a copy next month. Can’t wait to see what other content you come out with for this game.
