Knuckles; The Way Of The Warrior

Knuckles the Echidna made his first live-action appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022). Voiced by Idris Elba, both actor and film did an amazing job bringing out the character’s best traits: brawn and not so much brain. And now, the knuckle-bearing echidna returns in his own Paramount+ series, Knuckles. Join us at Geek News Now as we discuss the upcoming 6-episodic adventure, and what awaits our fearless red warrior.

Keep in mind that not much is known as of yet, but that won’t stop us from sharing with our fellow viewers. So, feel free to take a look at the released trailer here. With that out of the way, let’s get started!

Knuckles: Birth of a Warrior

To start things off, let’s recap what we’ve learned from Sonic 2. Knuckles was raised on the same planet as Sonic during the Echidna-Owl War (prior to the events of Sonic – 2020). While his father and remaining members of his tribe went to fight Knightclaw, the young echidna stayed behind. Years later, as the last remaining member of his family, he sets out on a personal quest to find and destroy Sonic. We then learn in the official Pre-quill comic that he had traveled to different planets, to no avail.

Captured by Scavengers and taken to a location known as Casino Night, the echidna defeats a two-headed alien scorpion and recruits his captors for assistance in continuing his mission. This then leads us to the events of Sonic 2, where Knuckles now joins Team Sonic after putting aside differences and defeating Dr. Robotnik. With nowhere else to go, Knuckles joins Sonic and co to live at the Wachowski’s residence.

This now leads us to the events of Knuckles.

Now residing with the Wachowskis, Knuckles seems to have a good life. However, as he is a warrior at heart, the red echidna cannot rest easy knowing there is still evil lurking in the shadows. With a new goal set in mind, he sets out on a quest alongside Sheriff Deputy Wade Whipple, the latter wanting to train and become a brave warrior just like Knuckles.

However, an old acquaintance of Robotnik’s referred to as ‘The Buyer’ has a goal as well. Bearing a grudge against the echidna, Buyer recruits some goons in order to obtain his power. Using some of Robotnik’s old tech, he aims to obtain Knuckles’ strength and get revenge against the red warrior. With a a 6-episode adventure in store, I can’t wait to see what Knuckles will bring to the table.

The series is set to release on Paramount+ on April 26th. Let us know in the comments below on what you’re excited to see from the upcoming series. Also, be sure to check out our Facebook page, as we keep our fellow viewers up-to-date on the latest happenings.
