Star Wars Needs More Bo!

With Din Djardin and Grogu going their own way, Bo Katan and the rest of the Mandalorians deserve their own series!

The Star Wars fanbase has been obsessing over the Mandalorian ever since Grogu aka “Baby Yoda” aka “the Child” first appeared on screen and excitedly await updates on their futures. With their newly announced movie, or the Mandalorian Season 4, there remains a story that is not being told. The story of what comes next with Bo Katan and the rest of the Mandalorians back on Mandalore. Lucasfilm needs to show their efforts to rebuild their society and retake their planet.

We last saw Bo Katan and the Mandorians following their victory on Mandalore over Moff Gideon and the Imperial Remnant in The Mandalorian Season 3 while Din Djarin and Grogu leave to their new digs on Nevarro. With forges relit, the rest of Mandalore is still in shambles following the destruction of the planet and killing of much of the Mandalorian population by the Empire. It is here that we witness the rebirth of Mandalore with Katan at the helm, but what happens next?

In season 3 of the Mandalorian we learn that there is breathable air on the planet as well as it is possible to cultivate and farm in certain areas of Mandalore. This means that future cities will not need to be domed in and that the planet has been healing itself after years of war had left it inhospitable. At this time the only parts of the planet that are known to have survived are the forges, the remaining parts of the Imperial base and the Living Waters. Is there more? In Star Wars we have barely scratched the surface of what Mandalore is like, there can be so much more to see!

With so much to learn about Mandalore, one can imagine that Bo Katan and the rest of the Mandalorians who fled following the Imperial destruction of the domed cities, have no idea what monsters lived outside those walls and lay in wait for their next meal. Let’s not forget the creature that captured Din Djarin in the beginning of Season 3. There are bound to be other monsters out there that the Mandalorians would need to know about and how to defend themselves from while they are rebuilding.

One of the most fascinating bits of lore waiting to be explored is the Mythosaur that Bo Katan sees while diving down to save Din Djarin. With the destruction of the Darksaber, this remaining Mythosaur can become the new symbol that unites the tribes of Mandalore. We see so little of the planet and of the water underground that there may be more Mythosaur alive than just the one we see.

What about the rebuilding of Mandalorian society? We have learned a lot about how people become Mandalorians. From learning Din Djarins backstory to watching the boy go through his initiation to get his helmet, we get to see a lot of this process, but how will it continue and grow to help create a thriving society on a rebuilding planet?

There are so many questions that need answering and one can imagine more adventures to come. The Mandalore story isn’t over, it is just getting started and Bo Katan is going to play a huge role in the rebuild and is deserving of her own story and series.
