On March 31st, the official Genshin Impact 3.6 Special Program aired. Hosted by Zach Aguilar and co, the livestream introduced new information coming to Genshin Impact this week. With much to cover regarding the ever-expanding Sumeru, we at Geek News Now are always happy to share the latest happenings with you all.
Test Your Skills; The Akademiya Awaits!

This year, Sumeru is holding its annual ‘Akademiya Extravaganza’, and you’re invited! Each branch of the Akademiya will send their best representative to compete in this furious competition. Participants will undergo various challenges within two separate parts: The Wisdom Gala and the Darshan Championship!
The Wisdom Gala will have challengers partake in activities that display a skill within each of the six Darshans. This will include obstacle course building, land surveying, and testing animal replicas.
As for the Darshan Championship, this will be a battle of wisdom and courage, testing your skills to see how well your knowledge and combat prowess can take you. Do you have what it takes to claim the champion title?
Genshin Banner Rerun; The Doctor Is In!

Of course, how can we discuss the next update to the game without discussing the banners. In Genshin Impact 3.6, Phase 1 will begin with two banner reruns. The 5-Star Dendro Archon Nahida, and 5-Star Hydro Sword wielder Nilou will be returning. In addition, three 4-Star characters Dori, Layla, and Kuki Shinobu will run alongside them.
Next, Phase 2 will include Cryo Bow wielder Ganyu, and Dendro Catalyst wielder Baizhu of Bubu Pharamacy. Since his first appearance during the Liyue Archon Quest, players expected him to be playable on the get-go. However, up until now, Baizhu had since been unobtainable. Now that the manager of Bubu Pharmacy will be playable during Phase 2, it’ll be interesting to see the kinds of team compositions there’ll be.
Running alongside the two 5-Stars will also be the 4-Star Dendro Claymore wielder, Kaveh. Previously introduced in Version 3.5 during the 3rd chapter of the Sumeru Archon Quest, it was quite interesting to see him be a playable character so quickly. While this won’t change much regarding gameplay- since we’ve now been given a small list of playable Dendro characters- it’s quite unique to have two obtainable Dendro characters set up for wishing.
I don’t know about you all, but I’m saving my Primogems for Baizhu. Much like some players, I’m looking forward to having the Bubu Pharmacy Manager in a team alongside my Qiqi.
Genshin Impact; Along Came A Dendro Dragon

Northwest of the Desert of Hadramaveth lies a ruined wasteland. According to legend, the area was one of many rifts that tore apart the land 500 years ago during the events of Khaenri’ah. Due to the Abyss’ influence, the land became inhabitable. As a result, monsters lurk deep within. Furthermore, an ancient dragon known as the Dragon of Verdure- named Apep- rests within, struggling to stay alive.
It was once a proud beast, ruling over the land alongside Greater Lord Rukkhadevata. However, due to certain events it has grown ill, and must be tamed before it rampages across the land! You will be able to encounter The Dragon of Verdure during Nahida’s new story quest, Sapientia Oromasdis: Act ll.
This boss will have three phases: The main phase, of course, will have you fight Apep. The second phase will have you protect a healing core from incoming monsters. And the final phase will have the newly recovered Apep unleash powerful Dendro attacks. Hopefully, you and Nahida will be able to find the cause of the dragon’s illness, and stop it before it brings further destruction to the land.
You know, this sort of takes me back to Venti’s Archon Quest, where we once had to heal Dvalin from his influence from the Abyss. Perhaps the two are connected, in a way.
And so, these are the main events coming to Genshin Impact 3.6. We’ll be sure to cover some of the minor events coming to 3.6 in a later article. until then, be sure to share your excitement in the comments below, we’d love to hear from you.
