Although our heroes of the show won’t be getting a redesign (We all know how Boom went), it’s interesting to see that the voice talent will be different this time around. The casting for Sonic Prime is as follows:
- Devin Mack: Voicing Sonic, Mack is known for his prior roles as Thanos (Lego Marvel), and Yonnis (The Dragon Prince).
- Ashleigh Bell: Replacing Colleen O’Shaughnessey for the role of Tails, Bell held prior roles such as Applejack (My Little Pony), and Nebula (Lego Marvel). According to a Tweet Colleen responded to, she will not be voicing Tails in the series due to Candian law prohibiting non-Canadian actors portraying Canadian roles.
- Adam Nurada: Having a prior role as Shingen (Dragalia Lost), Nurada will be voicing Knuckles the Echidna.
- Brian Drummond: Brian will be voicing Dr. Eggman in this series. Surprisingly, he is sldo known for his roles as Vegeta (Dragon Ball Z), and Knuckles (Sonic Underground). It’s ironic if you think about how he once voiced a hero, and now a villain.
With the inclusion of Kazumi Evans (The Christmas Ring) as Rogue the Bat, and Shannon Chan-Kent (Rent-A-Girlfriend) as Amy Rose, the roster for the series’ main cast seems to be quite the unique lineup.

Diving back into the story, let’s discuss the main antagonists: The Chaos Council. Upon arriving into a new world, Sonic is confronted by a collective group of Robotniks identified as The Chaos Council. From left to right, they are introduced as:
- Dr. Babble
- Dr. Don’t
- Dr. Eggman
- Dr. Deep
- Dr. Done-it
The collected group of scientists formed The Council, aiming to rule over the entire Shatterverse. Here, it’s confirmed that once Eggman got ahold of the Paradox Prism, the mad genius created a multiverse where Sonic never existed. Why the blue hedgehog still exists within the multiverse baffles even The Council, themselves. However, this shows that if he can travel to them, perhaps the vice versa can happen.
What the Council has planned for the Shatterverse, we’ll just have to wait and see.
