Laid Back Camp (alt. Yuru Camp) is a peaceful, slice-of-life anime. But the best part? Outdoor camping, of course! What’s even better? Their delicious recipes! Today, we will be sharing with you some of Yuru Camp’s best dishes, and how to prep each one for an excellent camping experience. During Winter or Summer, nothing beats a comfy campfire, and delicious outdoor meals.
Laid Back Camp’s First Dish; Soup Pasta:
This dish is courtesy of the shows main character, Rin Shima. Rin decided to cook this dish while camping, in order to enjoy a real meal outdoors. With a combination of vegetables, meat, and seasoning, it serves as a good starting dish to any solo camping.
The recipe calls for early prep at home to avoid waiting too long for the ingredients to be ready. Simply add a thinly sliced half onion, 1/6 Shimeji Mushrooms for sweetness, 2 sprigs of asparagus cut into 5cm, and parsley to add a sweet, nutty flavor. Follow this with 2 slices of bacon 5mm wide, 3cm garlic tube, 100g of pasta, 2 slices of cheese, 1 Bouillon Cube for flavor, and salt and pepper for seasoning. Next, liquids include 1 tbsp. olive oil, 200ml of milk, and 150ml of water.
The first step is to add the olive oil and grated garlic, and set to fry the ingredients. Secondly, add the water and bouillon cube and switch to boil, after the ingredients have softened. Once the water boils, fold the pasta in half for easy fitting (Note: If camping at higher altitudes, use thinner noodles as to not undercook them). Once the water level decreases, add the milk and cheese until it softens once more. Lastly, add the following seasoning, and apply parsley for garnish.
And, boom! Pasta Soup is ready for eating. In a way, you could say this beats ramen in a cup anytime, during camping.
The next Laid Back Camp dish on this list is a personal favorite of any group outing. As stated before, it’s best to prep ingredients at home, in order to avoid hassle during cooking.
For vegetables, prepare 2 wedged tomatoes and onions, 4cm of garlic clove, and basil. The recipe also calls for 300g of beef, 1.5 tbsp. of sugar, and eggs (number optional). Of course, be sure to include 100ml of soy sauce, 100ml of sake (light wine), and 2 tbsp. of olive oil.
Now onto the next step: cooking! The first step is to add olive oil and garlic into the pot, until the garlic gives off fragrance. Sauté the onions for about 3 minutes, and fry the tomatoes. Second, add the sugar, soy sauce, and sake. Place a cover over the pot and set to simmer for 5 minutes. Once the tomatoes are cooked, top it with the beef (cooked separately), and garnish with basil. With that completed, you’re all set for you and your friends to enjoy a hearty meal!
Hot Sandwich Meat Buns:
For our last Laid Back Camp dish, we’ll finish with something simple. Hot Sandwich Meat Buns are really easy to make with the right tools and ingredients provided. And the best part is, you don’t even need to prep anything beforehand. All that’s really need is a hot sandwich maker, and a meat bun of your choice.
The recipe calls for a meat bun (meat choice optional), butter, and sauce for flavor. Simply apply butter along the sandwich maker, to avoid any sticking. Place the meat bun inside and press over low to medium heat for 5 minutes on each side. Lastly, once done, apply the sauce to give it a nice flavor.
Enjoyed with others, or by yourself, these delicious meals are great choices for any avid camper.
