A Chat With GNN’s New Director Of Livestream Media

Here at GeekNewsNow it takes all types to grease the wheels and keep the machine that is GNN working and chugging along. We have a social media team, staff writers, podcasters, and even Twitch streamers. Becky Rainwater, one of our Twitch streamers, recently got promoted to Director of Livestream Media. But what exactly does that title mean and what purpose does it serve? To find out more about her new role and aspirations I decided to ask her a handful of questions.

1. What exactly is your new title at GNN and what responsibilities does it come with?

My new title is Director of Livestream Media. The majority of the gaming team streams through Twitch but we also have a gamer that streams through the GNN Facebook page. My responsibilities include scheduling our team, keeping Twitch up to date, uploading the team’s streams to GNN’s YouTube channel, contacting various groups and charities for special streams, and above all, keeping a safe and fun environment for the gaming team to do what they love to do – play games!

2. You have also been a Twitch streamer for GNN for a while now. What exactly about streaming do you enjoy the most?

I would say that I enjoy streaming because I can share the games I really like playing with other people and they can enjoy the gameplay. There are even times when someone watching has been able to play with me which makes it even more fun for me.

3. As a gamer what franchises or genres do you love to play the most and why?

I like a wide variety of game genres because I find them all to be fun and sometimes I want a great story while other times I just want to annihilate all of the enemies. It completely depends on what mood I’m in at the time. I’m currently streaming Sea of Thieves, Dead by Daylight, Fable Anniversary, and periodically Black Desert. I also play other games such as Pokémon, Animal Crossing, Mario Kart, Halo, Bloodstained, Oblivion, Overcooked 2, and several mobile games on my phone when I feel the urge to play those games. I also love playing board and card games as well as Dungeon’s and Dragons every week with my friends!

Pictured above is Becky’s Twitch persona, WolfAngel, along with the games she plays the most.

4. What kind of lasting impact do you hope to make on GNN with your new role?

I hope to help the gaming team, GNN staff, and the GNN fans to enjoy games together. I want the gaming team to keep improving and I am happy I am able to be a part of it!

5. What about Twitch or the Gaming Gurus would you like to see improve in the future?

I would love to see our content and followers continue to grow. There’s always room for improvement and that’s what we continue to strive for!

We, here at GNN, hope to see Becky thrive in her new position and can’t wait to see what she accomplishes in this space!
