DC Comics Strikes Back! Online Event “The DC FanDome” Returns This Fall!

The DC FanDome virtual to-do is BACK! In a tweet from the official DC Comics account on Twitter, the comics company revealed as of today that “The epic global event is back! Return to #DCFanDome 10.16.21.”

This is great news! Let’s do this thing!! I need me some DC; hopefully with a Superman who isn’t gritty!

Last year’s DC FanDome featured announcements from the worlds of DC Comics, the DC Extended Universe, Arrowverse, DC Universe (renamed DC Universe Infinite) and WB Games.

DC FanDome gave fans the opportunity to hear from the cast and creators behind fan-favorite movies and television shows including Aquaman (2018), The Batman (2022), Batwoman (2019-present), Black Adam (2022), Black Lightning (2017-2021), DC Super Hero Girls (2019-present), DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (2016-present), DC’s Stargirl (2020-present), Doom Patrol (2019-present), The Flash (2014-present), Harley Quinn (2019-present), the SnyderCut of Justice League (2021), Lucifer (2016-present), Pennyworth (2019-present), SHAZAM! (2019), The Suicide Squad (2021), Supergirl (2015-2021), Superman & Lois (2021-present), Teen Titans GO! (2013-present), Titans (2018-present), Watchmen (2019), Young Justice: Outsiders (2010-present) and Wonder Woman 1984 (2020).

I had fun watching and covering news of the various works during the first DC FanDome held in August 2020; the info involved news on movies The Flash (2022) and The Suicide Squad, video games “Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League” and “Gotham Knights”, and some nifty FanDome swag for sale on its website…

I was absolutely jazzed seeing the facts unfold about the future of DC properties in comics and on-screen. Now we get to do it again!

I expect news this year will likely include updates on movies The Flash and The Batman; fans are eager to know how those projects are coming along. There better be another amazing trailer for The Batman, is all I’m saying; the one which debuted last year was a hit — approximately 30,297,050 views to date since August 22, 2020 — and we need another taste of this sure-to-be amazing flick!

If they reveal more stuff about the Superman movie franchise reboot written by Ta-Nehisi Coates, I am *all in*! I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: this man will finally bring back a Superman who both lives and works in a real world but isn’t a dark and gritty Batman clone with superpowers; he’ll likely have light and hope guiding him which he’ll share with others. Give me news on this project, DC FanDome!

While we don’t know what all will be shown or talked about during this year’s DC FanDome, you can bet it will be very cool like last year’s! Come for the DC comics, come for the T.V. shows and movies, come for the latest video games; all with your DC faves bound to grace your eyes and entertain us all!
