Let’s face it, 2020 has not been a good year for much at all… It’s given us a lot of pain and agony; but I can count at least five things it has given us which were pretty cool nonetheless: five trailers for upcoming things to see on the big or small screen!
5. Dune (Official Trailer)

While I’m not a huge fan of the “Dune” series of stories, I will admit that this very trailer does entice me into wanting to see what the new movie Dune (2021) is all about! Granted it *appears* to be your standard “chosen one who must save the world” fantasy scenario; but the trailer looks epic in scale and intriguing in its sci-fi fantasy fare. I’d give the movie a try… After all, why fear trying something new when “fear is the mind-killer”?
4. Cobra Kai: Season Three (Official Trailer)

After a calamitous ending to its Second Season, Cobra Kai (2018-present) shows in its newest trailer that it will return with a lot of energy and more interesting story to tell in The Karate Kid saga. It asks if old rivals can finally unite for a good cause, how far one is willing to go to make it back from the brink, and more.
The cast returns and some familiar faces from the previous movies in The Karate Kid saga make a special return to lend to both the story and the nostalgia! I cannot wait to see this Third Season strike first, strike hard, and show no mercy!
3. Wonder Woman 1984 (Official Main Trailer)

I… want… to see this movie!! Contrary to what is said in the opening of this trailer, lines which spin off of the lyrics to the Wonder Woman T.V. show theme lyrics, this world *is* ready for all that she can do! Well, the movie-going audience of today, anyway… But I guess Diana’s keeping in hiding (of sorts) in the time of Wonder Woman 1984 (2020).
The trailer promises an action-packed thrill-ride return to the world of Wonder Woman! A new adventure is on the horizon as Wonder Woman must face the villains Maxwell Lord promises to gift the citizens of the world their desires and the seeming implication being that there may come consequences; such as Barbara Minerva becoming the villainess Cheetah… And there’s the question of the return of Steve Trevor.
We see Wonder Woman do her superheroine thing, using her Lasso of Truth to ride lightning, and fighting Cheetah while in new golden armor. It looks like more fun and excitement I’d be happy to see!
2. Justice League: Director’s Cut (Official Teaser Update)

This teaser for Zack Snyder’s Justice League (2021) was indeed an update only as a lot of it we had already seen before in an earlier teaser; minus some footage of Superman in a black suit and of villain Darkseid. These two things made the trailer feel perhaps a little more complete…
The teaser itself is good; it makes me want to see what will be a four hour-long movie for HBO Max streaming. It shows the members of the Justice League kinda down and out in a sour world which needs them to unite and make things better. I wish to see a *happier*, more action-packed and upbeat trailer for such a team-up; but this teaser does illustrate that the world is in serious need of heroes.
1. The Batman (DC FanDome Teaser)

When this trailer first released during the DC FanDome, it was a very welcome tease of what was coming our way. We all looked on and saw Robert Pattinson proving his worth as The Caped Crusader himself in his second year! We watched as the trailer showed us a rightfully dark and gritty Gotham City and some of its inhabitants like Penguin, Selina Kyle, and the strange gang that tries to fight Batman near the end of the trailer and he utterly pummels the seeming leader to a pulp.
Let me put it this way: I had my doubts about Pattinson as Bruce Wayne/Batman before; then I saw the trailer for The Batman (2022) and I was blown away with how wrong I felt I had been about him. The trailer is so good; I’ve joined the ranks of fans who watched it repeatedly just to see Pattinson say “…I’m *vengeance*!”
