SDCC: A New Book is On It’s Way to the Final Frontier

During the “All The Starfleet Ladies: Then and Now” panel they sat down with female authors of Trek novels and some big news was shared by Cassandra Rose Clarke.

She is the author of Assassin’s Curse Series, The Mad Scientists Daughter, Our Lady of the Ice, Halo: Battle Born Series, and more for both young adults and adults.

Cassandra has been nominated and was a finalist for the Philip K Dick Award, The Romantic Times Reviewer’s Choice Award, The Pushcard Prize, and YALSA’s Best Fiction for Young Adults.  She came in second place for the Rhysling Award for her poems.

She just released a new book titled Sacred Summer and has two more on the way! The first one is due out September 1, 2020 and it is a young adult science fiction called Forget This Ever Happened. The second was announced during the SDCC panel and it it the most exciting!  Clarke announced that she is writing her first ever Star Trek novel!

Clarke has confirmed that she is giving female Trekkies a story with a female in charge! The story follows the story lines of Counselor Deanna Troi and Doctor Beverly Crusher.

No title or release date is known at this time for her Star Trek novel but I can say this much, with her awards I can’t wait to read this story!  It is time for women to have a more prominent role in the Trekverse.
