Marvel Production is Postponed Due to Corona

The biggest movie franchise faces its biggest challenge yet.

When the MCU wrapped up its 11-year-long Infinity Saga with last year’s Avengers: Endgame, it was apparent that the franchise would be entering a new, uncertain era with this new decade. But the shifting theatrical release calendar creates an unforeseen obstacle.

There are many projects that were supposed to make their debut this year, but production has been halted and movies like The Eternals that were said to hit the theaters in November may not hit that soon at all.

This is the perfect time to hit Disney Plus with these films. Onward, which was in theaters for almost four weeks, hit Disney Plus on April 3. Disney uploads its newest movie at the four week mark.

It won’t be a surprise if these upcoming films are released on the magical streaming service instead of the theaters. I doubt they would make such a leap to just have these films on Disney Plus, but Disney is uploading sooner and sooner.

The Eternals isn’t the only thing that was supposed to come out. On top of Marvel’s Black Widow, at least two shows are supposed to come out in the coming year.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series is set to premiere on Disney Plus in August, but production was halted and Disney hasn’t announced whether that could impact its debut. The WandaVision series is slated for Disney Plus in December. There are already four Marvel movies coming to theaters next year in February, May, July, and November (which includes the third Spider-Man movie, distributed by Sony), as well as three Disney Plus shows.
